Videos have gone viral online showing fashion designer Seyi Vodi being denied entry by bouncers at the traditional wedding ceremony of singer Zlatan Ibile and his bride Davita Lamai.
The incident occurred on Saturday as guests arrived for the star-studded ceremony, which drew a host of celebrities and public figures.
The footage shows Vodi, known for his bespoke designs and celebrity clientele, attempting to enter the venue before being stopped by security at the entrance and asked to get tagged.
It is still unclear why he was denied entry or whether he was later allowed in. Neither Vodi nor Zlatan’s representatives have commented on the incident.
The wedding was a lavish affair, with Zlatan dressed in a cream robe layered with a textured ivory coat featuring hand-stitched red beadwork at the shoulders and hem. Coral beads, an ivory ceremonial cap and a carved wooden staff completed his ensemble, with the red accents echoing his bride’s gown.
Davita, for her part, wore a look accented by red crystal beads forming lattice patterns across the fabric, finished with a traditional Okuku braided crown, layered coral necklaces, a sheer crimson veil and a black horsehair fly whisk.
Born Seyi Adekunle, Vodi is a fashion businessman and the founder of Vodi Group, known for its chain of businesses. Cable
