President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the 2025 Audited Financial Statement of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), which recorded a profit after tax of ₦7.2 trillion, representing a 33 per cent increase from the ₦5.4 trillion reported in 2024.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, presented the financial statement to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He was accompanied by the company’s Group Chief Finance Officer, Dapo Segun.
The audited results also showed that NNPC Ltd generated ₦34.5 trillion in revenue and declared ₦5.8 trillion in dividends, reflecting the company’s financial performance during the 2025 financial year.
The presentation follows the company’s announcement on September 29, 2026, of its audited financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025.
According to the company, the results were announced following its Annual General Meeting and second earnings call with financial and business analysts.
NNPC Ltd said the financial performance highlighted its growing earnings strength and improved operational performance, providing a foundation for future growth.
The increase in profit after tax from ₦5.4 trillion in 2024 to ₦7.2 trillion in 2025 represents an additional ₦1.8 trillion, underscoring the improvement in the company’s reported profitability over the period.
The ₦34.5 trillion revenue figure also highlights the scale of the company’s operations in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, while the ₦5.8 trillion dividend declaration represents another key component of its reported financial results.
The presentation of the audited statement to President Tinubu provides an opportunity to communicate the company’s financial performance at the highest level of government, given NNPC Ltd’s central role in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
The company said its 2025 results reflect improvements in earnings and operational performance as it seeks to build on the reported gains and position itself for future growth.
NNPC Ltd continues to play a significant role in Nigeria’s energy industry, including the management of the Federal Government’s commercial interests in the petroleum sector.
The company’s latest financial results will remain an important reference point for assessing its profitability, revenue generation and dividend contributions in subsequent financial years.
