Although he saidhis going into the acting profession was a calling from God but Sir Chris Akwarandu has built a reputation around him in the make-believe industry.
Since 1983 when he began his journey by taking part in a television series by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Jos and Lagos, Akwarandu also joined Nollywood when it started.
In this chat with publisher of SOLIDNEWSNG.COM Online Magazine, AZUH LILIAN, the power dresser talks about his career and fashion sense and style.

Talent. Consistency. Professionalism.

Consistency. Deep talent. Style. Learning. Personal disposition. Ability to adapt.
What is your general assessment of Nollywood?
Nollywood is a work in progress. We have improved tremendously in technical areas, great strides in acting, but scripting still needs enormous improvement. Moreover, marketing is still in infancy. We need to develop markets and make people watch movies. Therefore, we need to develop the cinema and invest in the cinema.
Can you recollect the first time you acted and your first ever acting role?
It was in 1983, in the script ‘Son’s and Daughters’ by JC de Graft. I played the role of a lawyer.
Which is the most memorable role you have interpreted?
It is the playing the role of Satan inside hell
Which is the worst role you have played?
I can’t remember any. Acting is teaching. It’s pedagogical.
What is the greatest lesson life has taught you?
Life has taught me to be patient.

Nigeria is great. I have been to the 700 local areas. Yes, I have been abroad to many countries but certain locations here are good: Ogbunike cave, Mambila areas, Bayagida hills, Ikogosi, Rivers creeks, Association Falls etc

I have a Masters degree in Diplomacy, post graduate diploma in broadcast-journalism and a BA in Theatre-Communication.
