Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has been honored as the ‘Governor of the Year 2024 (Urban Renewal)’ at the prestigious Independent Awards 2024, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. This recognition highlights his visionary leadership, bold infrastructural reforms, and commitment to transforming Anambra State into a modern, livable, and prosperous homeland.
Receiving the award on behalf of Governor Soludo, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to sustainable urban development and infrastructural excellence. He emphasized that the award further validates the governor’s progressive policies and strategic governance, which have positioned Anambra as a model for urban renewal in Nigeria.

According to the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo’s administration has spearheaded the dualization of major roads in Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi, modernized markets, and upgraded public facilities to attract investors and boost economic activities.
Soludo has strengthened local vigilante groups and invested in technology-driven security systems, making Anambra one of the safest states in the South-East region.Through the Anambra Business City Initiative, he is attracting local and foreign investors, supporting SMEs, and championing industrial growth in agriculture and manufacturing. On Education & Human Capital, Soludo has recruited 8,115 teachers, rehabilitated public schools, and expanded vocational training and digital skills programs, positioning Anambra as a hub for innovation and creativity.
