Under the leadership of Comptroller Michael Toyin Awe, the Murtala Muhammed Area Command has achieved remarkable milestones in revenue generation and anti-smuggling efforts.
Since assuming office, Comptroller Awe has implemented strategies aligned with global customs standards, enhancing trade facilitation, reducing clearance times, and significantly boosting revenue.
From January to June 2024, the Command collected a total of N80.351 billion in Customs duties and other charges. This marks a substantial increase compared to the N38.707 billion collected during the same period in 2023, reflecting a 107.5 percent growth.
In addition to revenue gains, the Command recorded an export value of N266.655 million from January to June 2024, with a Free on Board (FOB) value of $204,597.07.
