Friday Atufe is the Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Effects Limited, a public relations consultancy firm.
He is a seasoned journalist who started his career with the Business Times, a publication of the Daily Times as a reporter in 1992 and rose to the position of Associate Editor before moving on to Financial Standard in 2002.
He became the Deputy Editor of Financial Standard in 2010.
In 2011, he joined TPT International Limited, one of the leading public relations consultancy as Senior Manager Media before moving back to mainstream journalism in 2014 as Business Editor, Lagos office, of the Leadership newspaper from where he moved
to Mediacraft Associates, another public relations consultancy firm in 2016 as Associate Director before moving to Strategic Effects Limited since September 2016.
In the course of his public relations career, he has effectively managed communications for Procter & Gamble (P&G), Promasidor, Starcomms Plc, MasterCard, Kirusa Limited, Diamond Bank Plc, Sterling Bank Plc, Heritage Bank Limited, Union Bank Nigeria Limited, Custodian Investment Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc, Investment One, NIBSS Unity Bank among others.
Atufe is married to Helen and has five children: Onome, Aghogho, Isaac, Ejiro and Eguoloroghene.
