Tragedy struck in Ilesa, Osun State yesterday, as a library official of the University of Ilesa (Unilesa), Mrs. Fanimo Ogunmokun, was crushed to death after a cashew container fell on her car.
The Nation gathered that the incident, which occurred on Campus Road in the afternoon, attracted sympathisers, as the wine-coloured Toyota Corolla with registration number Lagos LSD 584GD was trapped under the container for hours.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson for Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, said: “Mrs. Fanimo Ogunmokun was killed after a cashew truck container fell on her car. She was an official of Unilesa, who would have retired this month. “The truck, which belongs to an agro industry in Ilesa, was later lifted up to recover the body of Mrs. Fanimokun. The body has been removed from the scene.”
