Mrs. Noimat Folashade Okoya does not only epitomize brains and beauty, she is also aperfect example of an awesome dresser and dazzler.
Unarguably one of Nigeria’s best dressed and most beautiful women. The 46-year-old motherof four (Subomi, Wahab, Olamide and Oyinlola), unknown to many, has been married to billionaire mogul and Aare of Lagos, Alhaji Rasak Akanni Okoya for 24 solid years and together they’ve been savouring marital bliss.
A sociology graduate of the University of Lagos, and currently the managing director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited, situated in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, she chatted SOLIDNEWSNG Online Magazine’s AZUH LILIAN on life as a billionaire’s wife as well as why her marriage has remained rocksolid, unshaken and formidable despite all the challenges that go with celebrity marriages…
How does it feel to have been married for 24 years?
I thank God first for making it possible; marriage is not an easy institution, but if one is lucky to achieve and build a home, constant prayer is needed. Tolerance, patience and respect are
also needed for any marriage to succeed.
What is the greatest lesson that marriage has taught you?
I’ve learnt to be tolerant and always ensure I respect my husband. Have you ever heard an old sea captain boast that in all his experience, he has never seen a squally sea; never seen a dull, heavy, storm-laden sky; never heard the tempest shrink through the rig and threaten to tear
away the masts? His pride is in his skill, not in his luck. The matrimonial sea never remains absolutely serene and calm, with no ruffling waves for years. The vital point is that the storm
has all been weathered in safety and love and trust, purified by time and remains undaunted for 20 years.
What are your dreams and desires for this union?
To see (Eleganza Industrial City Limited) grow higher, bigger and become the best. To succeed in all I do because I hate to fail. To build a strong bond between myself and my
family. To live a long life with my husband and kids in good health and peace. Finally, to see my kids grow, both in love and physically, and to see them become successful.
What is the nicest thing about being married to a billionaire like Rasak Okoya?
Marrying an older industrialist has prepared me for more at an early stage than most people of my age. I have found out that I enjoy working in a challenging environment, and this helps
me to stay motivated and productive. Of course, there are many times when too much pressure can lead to stress. However, I am skilled at balancing multiple projects and meeting
deadlines. I created a schedule that details how I would break down each project into small
assignments. I believe I am very organized and detailed. Planning and organizing is the key
to handle pressure. I actually work better under pressure.
What is your advice to others who are yet to find love?
Prayer is everything. One has to be focused and also know what they need or want.
Everything is achievable if one sets out to achieve it. Generally, one can make a partner Mr.Right and then enjoy much more than the expectations of the lady.
