Chidinma Uzoma popularly known as Baba D Baba has been steadily making waves with his craft in the comedy circles. In this interview with the publisher of SOLIDNEWSNG.COM Online, AZUH LILIAN ,the comic act who said God called him into comedy shares his story among other related issues.

My name is Chidinma Uzoma also known as Baba De Baba from Ahiazu Mbaise local government area of Imo State.
Could you share with us your educational background?
I studied computer science at Universal College of Technology…Now known as The Polytechnic, Ife.
What makes a good comedian?
The ability to identify humour and make people laugh.
How long have you been in the comedy industry?
I started since 2004.
What differentiates you from other comedians?
What differentiates me is my style and originality… I don’t follow trend but I create the trend.
Why did you choose to be a comedian?
It’s in me and God called me to do it
What is the greatest thing being a comedian has done for you?
I have not made mine like that… But I have access to meet whoever I want to meet.
What is the greatest lesson life has taught you?
Giving what you don’t have attracts it.

Chris Rock, Alibaba, Allam Bloo, Okey Bakassi and Julius Agwu
How do you rate the Nigerian comedy industry?
The continent has accepted us and we are doing wel.
The name “Baba D Baba”, how did you come about it?
It’s a nickname given to me by my mum. She gave all her children nicknames.
Your romance with comedy, how did it start, what prompted it?
I had always wanted to make people laugh through acting, because I was the best actor in teen’s church back then in Mountain of Fire, Maryland. So after my SSCE, I tried acting …I spent money and time but I didn’t get any role. Since the aim was to make people laugh, I approached Allam Bloo and he gave me the platform of Galaxy TV to perform and that was how I started.
Who are the three people in the world, you would love to meet?
American president and others who share money.
How would you describe Chidinma Uzoma?
Simple, down to earth and very trustworthy.
What’s your favourite fashion accessory?
Wrist watch.
Who is your best dressed Nigerian man and why?
I’m not a fashion freak… So I don’t take note
Are you married or single?
Single and searching. My father said I shouldn’t come for Christmas without a lady.
What is the best way for one to make money as a comedian?
You must be funny, presentable and friendly.

What is your philosophy of life?
Face your challenges.
What is the most important thing to you right now?
My son and I’m trying to create space in my heart for love
How old is your son?
My son is seven years old.

I’m affordable. Laughs.
When was the last time you wore a suit?
Two Sundays ago.
Which is your favourite, corporate or native attires?
Corporate.
Why do you love corporate wears?
I grew up being corporate…My mum mustn’t see me wearing cloth without tucking in.
What’s your favourite colour and why?
White…It makes me handsome.
What is your favourite food?
Eba and Afang soup.
How do you relax?
Chatting and cooking.
Describe your personal style?
Simple…I don’t like stress.
What is the most common thing in your wardrobe?
Long sleeve shirts.
What is your definition of a stylish man?
Wearing what makes you look good and attractive.
How many awards do you have to your credit?
24 and over 30 that I didn’t collect.
Why?
Most awards are used to lure public figures to events since they can’t afford to pay for appearance and once he doesn’t show up, the award won’t be given to him.
What is the greatest thing God has done for you?
My son. I’m not in any relationship because I don’t like stress. So I’m happy I have a child.
Where is the most fantastic place you have travelled to recently?
Dubai.

N120,000 on a shoe and it was stolen.

I’m not a womanizer, I’m very spiritual, I believe in marriage and I can’t wait to be married.

Big Mickey, Omini Aho, Mr. Perfect and Laff Ambassador.
What is the best way to remain scandal free as a comedian?
Is to avoid scandal like I have been doing.

Style is how one appears.
What does fashion mean to you?
I’m not a fashion person o. I just dey wear cloth.
Why is it difficult for you to find love again?
Nigerian woman believe you must die while wooing them and I can’t die for anyone.
