The easy going and happy fellow is a medical scientist by profession, but chose to follow his first love “Comedy”. MY name is Patrick Onyekaba from Imo State.
What is your educational background?
I’m a medical laboratory scientist by qualification at institute of medical laboratory sciences, LUTH, Idi-Araba, Lagos
How did you come about the name Mc Pato?
From my name, Patrick.
What makes a good comedian?
I think you need a natural sense of humour and then learn to see the funny side of things.
How long have you been in the comedy industry?
Almost 15 years now
Why did you choose to be a comedian?
I just love making people happy and besides, it runs in my family.

Does comedy come natural for you?
Yes
What are the elements of a good joke?
It depends, can be a relatable personal experience or a current event.
What do you like most about being a comedian?
Making a living doing what I enjoy doing.
What stands you out from other comedians out there?
Well, I also do some motivation alongside the comedy, so, that has really stood me out.
What is the greatest lesson life has taught you?
Trust in God and do unto others, as you’ll like them to do unto you.
How do you rate the Nigerian Comedy Industry?
Top rated, second only to America.
What is the greatest thing God has done for you?
Giving me the privilege of having a personal relationship with him.
When was the last time you wore a suit?
Last weekend, for a wedding reception.
Which is your favourite, corporate or native?
Corporate
Why?
Because I feel more comfortable in them.
What is your favourite color and why?
Blue, because of its royalty.
What is your favourite food?
Pounded yam and Nsala soup

How do you relax?
I relax by watching sports and movies.
What does fashion means to you?
Fashion is the ability to express yourself by wearing what makes you feel comfortable.
Who is your best dressed Nigerian man and why?
Maybe Jim Iyke or AY because, they are very particular to details concerning their outfits.
Describe your wardrobe?
Not really a fashion freak.
What is your philosophy of life?
Just do the things that make you happy, as long as it doesn’t inconvenience the next person.
What are the three things people don’t know about you?
I’m very emotional, family oriented and I love my privacy.

Emeka Smith and comedian Odogwu.
Can you re-collect the comedy show that turned around your career?
Should be between M-Net’s Comedy Club Live in Lagos and Stand Up Nigeria.
What does friendship means to you?
Loyalty and mutual respect and understanding.
Who are your comedy icons?
Internationally, Chris Rock, Eddy Murphy and Martin Lawrence. Then back home, Ali Baba, Julius Agwu, Gordons, Basketmouth, Bovi and others.

What is the most important thing to you right now?
My motivational comedy book project.

It’s a collection of some of my written jokes laced with researched motivational materials for a pleasurable read.
