The display also supports up to 700 nits High Brightness Mode, helping improve visibility when using the phone in bright outdoor conditions. For a generation that increasingly uses smartphones as portable entertainment devices, audio is another area where the SMART 20 HD aims to make a difference. The device features stereo dual speakers with DTS Sound and 300% Ultra Volume, designed to deliver louder audio with greater clarity and a wider stereo effect. Whether it is a video playing in a room, music during a hangout or a voice note in a busy environment, the aim is to make content easier to hear without immediately reaching for headphones. Under the hood, the SMART 20 HD is powered by the T7250 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of RAM that can be extended to up to 6GB and 64GB of internal storage. Infinix says the device has also undergone its 48-Month TÜV Fluency testing, reflecting a focus on maintaining a smooth everyday experience over an extended period. AI that is designed for everyday tasks One of the more notable additions is One-Tap Infinix AI, which brings a range of AI-powered functions to the SMART 20 HD. Instead of positioning AI simply as a headline feature, the phone applies it to familiar tasks. AI Writing can assist with creating written content, while AI Summarising can condense information from sources such as voice recordings, articles and web pages. AI Problem Solving can recognise questions from a photograph and provide answers and steps, while AI Asking allows users to use Folax to ask questions and handle everyday tasks. Access is also designed to be straightforward. A long press of the power button can bring up Folax, allowing users to give instructions by voice, such as asking it to draft a message or complete another supported task. For students and young professionals in particular, these features could prove useful in the small moments that add up throughout the day, from summarising information and drafting messages to getting help with questions. Built for everyday movement The SMART 20 HD also takes into account the conditions in which smartphones are actually used. The device carries an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, while its touch display is designed to remain responsive with wet or greasy fingers. Infinix has also subjected the device to a series of durability tests, including a 25,000-times repeated drop test, a 1.5-metre drop resistance test and a 70°C high-temperature test in its laboratory testing. Powering the experience is a 5,000mAh battery, supported by AI Charging technology designed to help manage charging and battery health. Infinix’s stated laboratory figures include up to 28 days of 4G standby, although actual performance will vary depending on usage and conditions. The phone also includes practical touches such as Dynamic Bar, which provides at-a-glance updates for activities including incoming calls, recording, navigation and other functions, as well as an Always-On Display for viewing selected information without unlocking the phone. Staying connected beyond the usual network Connectivity is another part of the SMART 20 HD experience. The device features UltraLink Free Call via Bluetooth, which allows compatible smartphones to communicate through Bluetooth when conventional network connectivity is unavailable. The feature supports phone calls, text messages and voice messages of less than 60 seconds, with a stated communication range of up to 150 metres without obstruction. For users who spend time outdoors, travel between locations or simply find themselves in areas with unreliable network coverage, that provides another layer of connectivity beyond the conventional mobile network. More than the basics The SMART 20 HD reflects how expectations around affordable smartphones are changing. Users are no longer looking only for a device that can make calls, send messages and run basic applications. They increasingly want smoother displays, better entertainment, useful AI tools, dependable battery life and features that fit naturally into the way they live.
