Billionaire industrialist, Aare Rasaq Akanni Okoya, alongside his wife, Dr. Shade Okoya, hosted their annual Eid-el-Kabir celebration on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the expansive Oluwa-Ni-Sola Estate in Lekki, Lagos.
The celebration drew hundreds of Muslim faithful, dignitaries, associates and well-wishers who gathered for prayers, unity and the sharing of blessings in the spirit of the Sallah season.
The atmosphere across the estate reflected both festivity and tradition, as family members, friends and guests joined the renowned businessman in marking one of Islam’s most significant celebrations. The event carried the ambience of a grand carnival, with music, hospitality and cultural displays adding colour to the gathering.
Known for his generosity and warm disposition, Aare Okoya opened the gates of his residence to guests from different walks of life, creating an atmosphere of inclusiveness and celebration.
Activities commenced with a special prayer session led by Islamic clerics at the estate’s prayer ground, where prayers were offered for peace, national unity and continued prosperity for Nigeria.
Following the prayers, Aare Okoya and Dr. Shade Okoya ushered guests into an elaborate reception held within the estate’s grand living hall. Guests were treated to a rich variety of delicacies, while gifts reportedly worth millions of naira were distributed in appreciation of their presence.
Traditional drummers, elegantly dressed in white ensemble attire, entertained guests with energetic cultural performances that added rhythm and excitement to the celebration, as friends and associates of the Okoya family mingled in an atmosphere of warmth and goodwill.
The annual Eid-el-Kabir gathering once again underscored the Okoya family’s longstanding tradition of hospitality, cultural pride and social connection within Nigeria’s high society circle.
